Krakow
With its unique architecture, art and culture, Krakow is a magical city. In 2000, it was honoured with the title of European Capital of Culture. Today, Krakow, once the capital of poland, is one of the country's most important centres of culture and tourism. The city offers a wide range of cultural events, with over 40 annual festivals, including the international Jewish Culture Festival, the International Print Triennial, the Sacrum Profanum Festival and the international Krakow Film Festival. The new, recently-opened opera house and the Krakow Philharmonic regulary play host to Europe's most distinguished performers, while Poland's most famous actors appear on the stages of the city's theatres. Krakow is a city that never sleeps. The environs of the Main Market Square and the Kazimierz district boast Europe's largest medley of clubs and pubs to be grouped in such a relatively small area, an area that pulses with life fromdusk to dawn.
